Annual leave calculator

Enter the start date and the number of working days of leave to see when you return to work and what you receive as holiday pay. Public holidays are not deducted from your leave days.

How annual leave works

The minimum annual leave is 20 working days per year (art. 145 of the Labour Code). The entitlement is pro rata to the time worked in the calendar year. Public holidays on which no one works are not counted as leave, so they do not use up your days.

Holiday pay

Holiday pay is the average daily pay over the last 3 months before the month of leave, multiplied by the number of leave days (art. 150). The calculator divides 3 months of salary by the working days of the same months, then multiplies by the leave days. If you have permanent bonuses or variable pay, include them in the salary you enter. Holiday pay is paid at least 5 working days before the leave starts.

Results are indicative and do not replace advice from an accountant or lawyer, or checking the legislation.

Frequently asked questions

How many leave days do I get a year?

At least 20 working days a year under the Labour Code. Your contract or internal rules may give more.

Are public holidays deducted from leave?

No. Public holidays on which no one works are not counted as leave. The calculator skips them and lists them.

How is holiday pay calculated?

The average daily pay over the last 3 months before the leave month, multiplied by the leave days. The calculator uses the gross salary you enter and the working days of those 3 months.

Can I be paid instead of taking leave?

As a rule no. Payment in lieu is possible only when the employment contract ends, for leave not taken.

How is the pro-rata entitlement calculated?

Multiply the days per year by the months worked and divide by 12. The calculator shows the result. For rounding, check your contract or internal rules.
