Enter your gross salary and the hours worked overtime, on public holidays or at night to see what you receive extra, gross and estimated net. The hourly rate comes from the working days of the chosen month.
Legal minimum premiums: 75% for paid overtime, 100% for work on public holidays, 25% for night work (at least 3 hours between 22:00 and 06:00). A contract may provide more.
How premiums are calculated
The hourly rate is the monthly gross salary divided by the hours in the month (working days × hours per day). The month matters because the number of working days differs.
Overtime. It is compensated with time off within the next 90 calendar days. If time off is not given, it is paid with a premium of at least 75% of the base salary (art. 120 of the Labour Code). The maximum working week, overtime included, is 48 hours, averaged over 4 months (art. 114).
Work on public holidays. It is compensated with time off or paid with a premium of at least 100%, under the Labour Code (art. 142).
Night work (between 22:00 and 06:00, at least 3 hours). It is paid with a premium of at least 25% of the base salary, or working time is reduced by one hour (art. 125).
A collective or individual contract may provide higher premiums. The calculator shows the premiums on top of the monthly salary as gross amounts and estimates net using the salary rules. Results are indicative and do not replace advice from an accountant or lawyer, or checking the legislation.
Frequently asked questions
How is the hourly rate calculated?
Monthly gross salary divided by the hours in the month, that is working days times hours per day. The calculator uses the month you choose.
How much is an overtime hour paid?
If it is not compensated with time off, it is paid at the hourly rate plus a premium of at least 75%, that is at least 1.75 times the hourly rate.
What premium applies to night work?
At least 25% of the base salary for hours worked at night, if at least 3 hours are worked between 22:00 and 06:00. Alternatively, working time is reduced by one hour.
How is work on a public holiday paid?
It is compensated with time off or paid with a premium of at least 100%. The calculator adds the premium to the monthly salary.
Is the net shown exact?
It is an estimate: the net difference between the salary with premiums and without, calculated with the salary rules. Your payslip may differ.
