How to keep track of your leave
- Enter how many days of annual leave you get per year and, if needed, how many you carried over from last year.
- Tap the first and the last day of your leave on the calendar and choose the type: annual, sick, family event, maternity or paternity, training, time off in lieu, unpaid or other.
- Only working days are counted. Weekends and public holidays inside the period are shown hatched and are not deducted.
- To keep your tracker and open it on any device, save it to your free e-utilio.ro account. Without an account the data only stays temporarily in this browser.
Only annual leave uses up your yearly days. Sick leave, family event days and the other types are kept separately, so you can see how many days you were away for each type.
What Romanian law says about annual leave
The Romanian Labour Code grants at least 20 working days of annual leave per year (art. 145). Public holidays that are not worked and paid days off from the collective agreement are not included in the leave. Leave should be taken every year; days you could not take can be used within 18 months after the end of the year they were due for (art. 146). For special family events such as a wedding, the birth of a child or the death of a relative you are entitled to paid days off that are not deducted from annual leave (art. 152).
The results are indicative. For your exact situation also check your employment contract, internal rules or the applicable collective agreement.
Frequently asked questions
Are weekends and public holidays deducted from my leave?
No. Annual leave is counted in working days. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays inside your leave are not deducted, and the tracker marks them separately.
How many days of leave do I get per year?
At least 20 working days under the Romanian Labour Code. Your individual or collective contract may give you more, for example for seniority. Enter your real number of days in the tracker.
Is sick leave deducted from annual leave?
No. Sick leave is separate and does not use up your annual leave days. The tracker shows both working days and calendar days of sick leave, because medical certificates are issued in calendar days.
What happens to leave days I did not take?
You can take them within the next 18 months after the end of the year they were due for. Enter them under “Carried over from last year”; if you also kept last year’s tracker here, we suggest the number for you.
Why do I need an account to save my tracker?
So the tracker stays yours and you can open it on your phone, laptop or work computer. The e-utilio.ro account is free and only you can see your saved data. Without an account, what you mark only stays temporarily in this browser.
