Find the date a deadline ends (notice period, payment, delivery) or how many working days lie between two dates. The calculation skips weekends and Romanian public holidays.
How deadlines are calculated
The calculator counts days starting from the chosen date. By default the start day is not counted and the last day of the period is included, the rule normally used for deadlines set in days. If your document says otherwise, tick “Count the start day”.
Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and Romanian public holidays. For calendar days you can choose to move a deadline that ends on a non-working day to the next working day, as happens with many procedural deadlines.
Common deadlines in the Labour Code
The notice period for dismissal is at least 20 working days (art. 75). For resignation, notice is at most 20 working days for executive roles and at most 45 working days for management roles (art. 81). Both are counted in working days.
Results are indicative and do not replace advice from an accountant or lawyer, or checking the legislation.
Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a 20-working-day notice period?
Choose the start date, enter 20, select “Working days” and “After the start date”. The calculator skips weekends and public holidays and shows the last day of the notice period.
Is the start day counted?
Not by default. If your period starts running on that very day, tick “Count the start day”.
Are public holidays working days?
No. Public holidays that fall Monday to Friday are excluded from working days, like weekends.
What if a deadline ends on a day off?
For many deadlines, such as in civil procedure, it extends to the next working day. The calculator does this for calendar days if the option is ticked. Check the document that sets your deadline.
Can I count the days between two dates?
Yes. Choose “Count the days between two dates” and see calendar days, working days, weekends and holidays in the range.
