Holidays that move every year
Orthodox Easter falls on April 20 in 2025, and Good Friday on April 18. Pentecost is on June 8 and June 9. All other holidays have fixed dates.
The list is based on art. 139 of the Romanian Labour Code. Extra days off granted by government decision (bridge days) are not included because they are set separately. A holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday is not automatically made up with a working day. Employees who work on a public holiday receive time off or a pay premium under the Labour Code.
